We’ve Been Busy Busy Busy
Since the 17th January I’ve taken 45 people around the cemetery, sharing with them its history, creation, layout, major historic/heritage items, and some back stories of ordinary people buried in this extraordinary place. I’ve learnt lots along the way – like not to attempt to take 2 tours on one day (6 hours walking is really too much!) and that most people are prepared to drive around in their car if the weather is too hot or rain threatens. We go from vantage point to vantage point, and then take some shorter strolls around each area to look at the items of interest. This is also a useful way to do things for those who are slightly less mobile. I’m still struggling to get to grips with using Facebook to post interesting photos and snippets about the cemetery, but some progress has been made. If you haven’t already done so, please “Like” the Karori Cemetery Tour Facebook page.
Why not join me on one of the available tours in the next few weeks while the weather is still fine – go to www.karoricemeterytour.weebly.com for all the information, or just email me on karoricemeterywalk@gmail.com
